Privacy Policy
Effective April 24, 2026
This policy explains what data Wake touches, where it goes, and what it never does.
The short version
- Health and calendar data stay on your iPhone. Wake reads them locally; they are never uploaded to us.
- Messages you send to the in-app assistant are processed on our servers and by a third-party AI provider to generate a response. They are not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train AI models.
- Wake has no accounts, no logins, and no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- Deleting the app deletes your data.
Who we are
Wake is built by Matt Lerner. Contact: info@wakekit.com.
What Wake accesses on your device
Apple Health (HealthKit)
With your permission, Wake reads the following data types from HealthKit to provide the app's functionality:
- Sleep analysis
- Heart rate and resting heart rate
- Heart rate variability
- Respiratory rate
- Active energy, step count, and workout data
- Menstrual and cycle data (if you log it)
- Mindful minutes
Wake only reads from HealthKit — it never writes data back. HealthKit data stays on your iPhone and is not transmitted to our servers or to any third party.
Calendar
With your permission, Wake reads your calendar events to provide the app's functionality. Event contents stay on your iPhone and are not transmitted to our servers or to any third party.
Location
With your permission, Wake uses your approximate location to fetch weather via Apple's WeatherKit service. Your location is sent to Apple (not to us) to resolve the forecast, and is not stored.
Notifications
With your permission, Wake sends local notifications. These are scheduled on your device and do not send data to our servers.
What leaves your device
In-app assistant
If you use the in-app assistant, your messages — along with relevant in-app context needed to generate a useful reply — are sent to api.wakekit.com, a Cloudflare Worker we operate. The Worker forwards them to our AI provider, which generates the response. The response is streamed back to your app.
We do not store your messages on our servers beyond short-lived logs used for debugging and abuse prevention. Our AI provider processes content under their own privacy terms; those terms do not permit use of API inputs or outputs to train their models.
Diagnostic and crash data
If you have opted in to share app analytics or crash reports with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymized reports with us. We use these to fix bugs. Wake does not include any third-party analytics SDK.
What Wake does not collect
- No name, email, phone number, or other account identifier — Wake has no account system.
- No advertising identifiers. Wake does not show ads and does not share data with ad networks.
- No precise GPS tracking or location history.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
How your data is stored
App data that Wake creates is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's built-in storage. It is backed up to iCloud only if you have iCloud backup turned on for the device, which is a setting you control in iOS.
Data retention and deletion
- To delete all data Wake has created: delete the app. iOS removes its local storage along with it.
- To revoke Wake's access to Health, Calendar, Location, or Notifications: iOS Settings → Wake, then toggle the permission off.
- For the short-lived debugging logs on our servers, email info@wakekit.com and we will delete any log lines associated with your device within 30 days.
Third parties we use
- Apple — HealthKit, WeatherKit, Calendar, Notifications, and iCloud backup (if enabled). Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts the
api.wakekit.comWorker. Governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. - Anthropic — generates replies from the in-app assistant. Governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
Children
Wake is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Wake is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, any data sent to api.wakekit.com is processed on infrastructure in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
